He is celebrated for his achievements, intellectual skills and literary works. He was the patron of arts, culture, classical dance, drama and music that flourished and encouraged during his reign. Sarasvati Mahal library  is named after him because he himself collected lots of manuscripts from various places and books from many countries and kept in his library.He preserved his library and ancient manuscripts very well.
