One of the unique activities taken up by HSM is the celebration of important historical days with an aim to prevent erosion of patriotic values amongst the youth and inculcate a sense of pride in their minds about the Indian History. He had then honoured the Peshwa family represented by Shrimant Mahendrasinha Peshwa with a battle honour and also honoured around 60+ present-day descendants of various Maratha fighters who led down their lives for the Hindavi Swarajya. Since then HSM has decided to celebrate 4 important days of Maratha History primarily – Hindavi Swarajya Shapath Din (27th April), Atak Vijay Din (10th August), Dakshin Digvijay Din (6th October) and Panipat Shourya Din (14th January) every year. The Army Commander advised the delegation to take up the mantle of training these youth for the written exam so that they get selected in the army. The HSM has started working on the same and soon the efforts will bear excellent results.
